Viewing a Discussion Board Forum, One Message at a TimeWe're assuming that you've come to this page from Viewing Messages in a Discussion Board Forum, and that you are already at the "Thread Detail" page that shows you a list of the messages in the thread. If you are not at that point in your course, you can view that earlier page (opens in new window), and follow steps 1 through 4 to get to the Thread Detail page. When you clicked on the link for the thread on the earlier instruction sheet, the initial post for that thread was loaded into the text window at the bottom of the page, and the thread subject header in the summary pane in the middle of the page changed from bold to normal text, to indicate that the message has been "read". You can then click on each thread (in that top pane), so that the content of the message appears in the bottom (text) window: Once you are done clicking on each subject header and reading all the messages, you can scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the button, or you can use the "bread-crumb trail" at the top of the page to return to the list of threads in the forum: You can then repeat the process above (clicking on subject headers to display the messages in the text box) for other threads in the Discussion Board forum. If you are grading the Discussion Board, you can follow these instructions on how to perform that task. Last revised July 31, 2007. Please send questions or comments to itec@bucknell.edu. |
