In February 2008, the wetland was drained by police
and city officials during a crime investigation.
The wetland outflow was previously controlled by a
concrete gate installed at the old railroad bridge
abutment.
If the outflow was restored, there is sufficient
ground and surface recharge that water levels in
the wetland will likely return to normal
conditions.
