Facilities
The SRI facilities include:

  • Two-story house on Bucknell campus auxiliary powered by solar panel
  • Computers equipped with geographic information system (GIS), hydrologic modeling software
  • River kayaks
  • Water and sediment samplers

Additionally, laboratory and research facilities in biology, geology, and civil and environmental engineering are available. These include:

  • Brand new, research-grade, tilting, 40 x 10-ft laboratory flume for water and sediment transport studies, landform development, and fluvial processes research.
  • Brand new remote-controlled soil and bedrock drill rig
  • Sedimentology and petrology laboratories
  • Scanning electron microscopes
  • Water quality laboratory
  • Remote sensing and GIS mapping software
  • Geophysical laboratory (seismic, ground-penetrating radar, electrical resistivity)
  • Stream hydraulic and sediment transport sampling equipment
  • Boat and limnological sampling equipment
