Type Locality:Argentina, Tucumán Prov., 450 m.
Distribution:NW Argentina.
Status:IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
Comments:Cabrera (1961) synonymized tucumanus under mendocinus. Considered distinct from mendocinus by Roig and Reig (1969) and Reig and Kiblisky (1969). Karyotype has 2n=28 and FN=52 (Reig et al., 1992).
