Common Name:Magellanic Tuco-tuco
Type Locality:Chile, Magallanes, Bahia de San Gregorio.
Distribution:Extreme S Chile and S Argentina.
Status:IUCN – Vulnerable; reduced in numbers by sheep grazing.
Comments:Osgood (1943) included fodax but see coments under that taxon. Karyotype has 2n=34-36 and FN=64 (Gallardo, 1991).
