Common Name:Flamarion’s Tuco-tuco
Type Locality:Brazil, Rio Grande do Sul, Estação Ecolóogica do Taim, Fazenda Caçapava.
Distribution:Coastal sand dunes in Rio Grande do Sul, S Brazil.
Status:Endangered from urbanization (Freitas, 1995).
Comments:Karyotype has 2n=48 and FN=50-78 (Freitas, 1994). Freitas (1994) suggested that this species might belong to the mendocinus group.
