Common Name:Perote Deermouse
Type Locality:México, Veracruz, Perote.
Distribution:Known from only two localities in Veracruz, EC México.
Status:IUCN – Endangered.
Comments:P. truei species group. Retained as a species since its discovery (Carleton, 1989; Hoffmeister, 1951; Osgood, 1909), although Hooper (1968) suspected that it would prove to be a subspecies of P. truei, a possibility that has yet to be addressed.
