Common Name:Nicaraguan Woodrat
Type Locality:Nicaragua, Matagalpa Dept., Matagalpa.
Distribution:NW Nicaragua, Honduras.
Status:IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
Comments:Subgenus Neotoma, mexicana species group (sensu Edwards and Bradley, 2002b). Hall (1981) suggested that chrysomelas is conspecific with N. mexicana, a proposal that should be considered apropos of a much needed revision of the latter.
