Type Locality:México, Veracruz, Jico, 6000 ft (1830 m).
Distribution:E slopes of Sierra Madre Oriental, from SE Hidalgo to C Veracruz, México.
Status:IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
Comments:Relegated to a subspecies of Peromyscus thomasi by Musser (1964); reinstated to species rank by Carleton (1989).
