Tribe Alcini is now to be spelt Alceini, approved by Opinion 1081 (International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature, 1977c). Allocation of genera to tribes is as follows: Alceini (Alces), Capreolini (Capreolus), Odocoileini (Blastocerus, Mazama, Odocoileus, Ozotoceros), Odocoileini or Rangiferini (Hippocamelus, Pudu), Rangiferini (Rangifer). Webb (2000) transferred Hippocamelus and Pudu to Rangiferini. |
