Common Name:Tepui Rhipidomys
Type Locality:Venezuela, Bolívar State, Mt Roraima, 8700 ft (2652 m).
Distribution:Highlands of S Venezuela (Bolívar and Amazonas) and neighboring parts of N Brazil and W Guyana.
Status:IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
Comments:R. macconnelli section sensu Tribe (1996). Sometimes misallocated as a species of Thomasomys (e.g., Gyldenstolpe, 1932) but see Hershkovitz (1959b). Tribe (1996:194) viewed macconnelli "as a possible basal offshoot of the genus."
