Guest House

In 1958, the University entered into an agreement to purchase the building located at 303 South Sixth Street, which included a life tenancy for its owner, Miss Ethel Ward. In 1962, the building became the University Guest House.

This photograph was taken sometime before 1965 because in 1965 South Sixth Street was closed between St. George Street and the intersection of Loomis and Walker Streets when the New Women's Dormitory was constructed. All of the houses on this block of South Sixth Street, with the exception of the University Guest House, were demolished, including Stephens House, whiich is partially visiible to the left in the photograph.
