The Freas-Rooke Swimming Pool, which connects with Davis Gymnasium, was added to the gymnasium in 1955. This addition was dedicated October 28, 1956. It contained an intercollegiate-size pool and a balcony with a seating capacity of 400. One of the two brick stairwells at the front of Davis Gymnasium is visible to the far left behind the scaffolding.

A. Guy Freas, Trustee from 1949 to 1982, and Robert L. Rooke, Class of 1913, Trustee from 1930 to 1975, contributed $300,000.00 to build the pool.
