Stadium Lights

In 1926, a fence was erectd around the stadium. Although university funds were used to pay for the fence, the cost was included in the loan that the university made to the Bucknell.Stadium Commission. Two years later, floodlights were installed to light the football field for evening practices. In 1929, a loud-speaker system was installed, and it was used for the first time in the game with Washington and Jefferson on October 12. The football team played the first night game in Memorial Stadium on a Friday evening , scheduled to begin at 8:15 PM on September 25, 1931 when the Saints of St. Thomas College in Scranton came to Lewisburg.
