This aerial photograph, 1945, shows part of the "new campus", stretching from the Men's College Quadrangle ( in the upper left-hand corner of the photo) to the newly completed Delta Sigma house in the lower right hand corner of the photo. At the top of the photo is a part of the east wing of Main College,with its door opening on the quadrangle, and East College, with the oberservation tower and the fire escape. Next to East College is the College Inn, which is located next to Seventh Street.The Observatory building with its white dome, is next to the College Inn. The Engineering Building is in the center of the photo next to the large parking lot. In the parking lot, the white lines are men of the Navy V-12 unit in their dress uniforms, standing in formation.The Ziegler Infirmary is partially visible in the upper right-hand corner of the photo.

Behind the Engineering Building is the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity house, which had been constructed in 1931. It was the first fraternity house to be built on the "new campus". In the bottom right-hand corner of the photo is the Delta Sigma fraternity house, which had been built in 1941.

To the left of this photograph is the remainder of the "new campus", consisting of the mall and the Vaughan Literature building.
