Common Name:Alaska Tiny Shrew
Type Locality:United States, Alaska, near Galena, Crown Creek, 1.75 mi. (2.83 km) N, 2.25 mi. (3.62 km) W Beaver Creek (64°44'N, 156°50'W).
Distribution:C to SW Alaska.
Comments:Subgenus Sorex. Formerly included in minutissimus (Dokuchaev, 1994) but later described as a new species (Dokuchaev, 1997). Subsequently reported from SW Alaska by Peirce and Peirce (2000).
