Common Name:Thomas' Small-eared Shrew
Type Locality:Colombia, Plains of Bogota, near city of Bogota, 9000 ft. (2740 m), "on G. O. Child's estate".
Distribution:Colombia, highlands above 2700 m around Bogotá in the Eastern Cordillera.
Status:IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
Comments:Woodman (1996) redefined the species and included avia as a synonym.
