Common Name:Mountain Paca
Type Locality:Ecuador, Andes.
Distribution:Mountains of Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, and NW Venezuela.
Status:IUCN – Lower Risk (nt) as Agouti taczanowskii.
Comments:Placed in Stictomys by Cabrera (1961:595) and in Agouti by Handley (1976:55) and Gardner (1971:1088). Karyotype has 2n=42 and FN=80 (Gardner, 1971).
