Common Name:Patagonian Colilargo
Type Locality:Chile, Magallanes Prov., Straits of Magellan, Port Famine.
Distribution:S Patagonian region of Chile and Argentina, including Tierra del Fuego.
Status:IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
Comments:Karyotypic, morphometric, and phallic differentiation from O. longicaudatus supports the specific recognition of O. magellanicus (Gallardo and Palma, 1990; Gallardo and Patterson, 1985).
