Type Species:Phascogale macdonnellensis Spencer, 1896.
Comments:Separated from Antechinus by Archer (1982:434), but retained in it by McKenna and Bell (1997). According to molecular evidence, it is not even closely related to Antechinus, but forms a distinctive genus of the Dasyurini (Krajewski et al., 1997a).
