Common Name:Iberian Shrew
Type Locality:Spain, Segovia, La Granja.
Distribution:W to C Iberian Peninsula (Portugal and Spain).
Status:IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
Comments:Subgenus Sorex, S. araneus group. Karyotype has 2n = 36/37, FN 38-40. Afforded specific rank by Hausser et al. (1975); reviewed by Hausser (1990) and García-Perea et al. (1997, Mammalian Species No. 554).
