Common Name:Big Mexican Small-eared Shrew
Type Locality:Mexico, Oaxaca, Totontepec, 6800 ft. (2000 m).
Distribution:NC Oaxaca (Mexico) from ca. 1500 to 2500 m elevation (Carraway, ms).
Status:IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
Comments:Reviewed by Robertson and Rickart (1975, Mammalian Species No. 61). A relict species, according to Choate (1970).
