Common Name:Savanna Dwarf Shrew
Type Locality:Uganda, probably Entebbe.
Distribution:Dry and moist savanna from West Africa (Mauritania) to Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.
Status:IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
Comments:Includes rudolfi; see Heim de Balsac and Meester (1977). Often confused with other small species such as fuscomurina and pasha. For a discussion of "small Crocidura", see Heim de Balsac (1968d). Karyotype from Côte d’Ivoire has 2n = 42, FN = 74 (Maddalena and Ruedi, 1994).
