Type Locality:Sudan, Bahr el Abiad.
Distribution:Sudan savanna from Kenya to Mali.
Status:IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
Comments:Gureev (1979) listed beta as a distinct species without comment. For synonyms see Hutterer (1984), Hutterer and Kock (1983) and Hutterer and Happold (1983).
