Common Name:Southern Pericote
Type Locality:Argentina, Santa Cruz Prov., "interior plains of Patagonia" at 50S latitude, near the Ro Santa Cruz (probably near La Argentina as per Hershkovitz, 1962:392).
Distribution:S Andes of Chile and Argentina, from about 38S latitude to Straits of Magellan.
Status:IUCN Lower Risk (lc) as Auliscomys micropus.
Comments:Revised by Pearson (1958); banded karyotype published by Spotorno and Walker (1979).
