Type Locality:Ecuador, Pichincha Prov., Volcán Pichincha, 11,500 ft (3505 m).
Distribution:N Ecuador at high elevations.
Status:IUCN – Endangered.
Comments:Diploid number (2n = 92) reported by Gardner (1971); taxonomy and distribution reviewed by Voss (1988).
