Common Name:Catamarca Akodont
Type Locality:Argentina, Catamarca Prov., Laguna Blanca, 3100 m.
Distribution:NW Argentina; limits unknown.
Comments:Subgenus Akodon, A. boliviensis species group (Galliari et al., 1996). Reassigned as a subspecies of lactens (Gyldenstolpe, 1932; Cabrera, 1961) and thereafter associated as a member of Bolomys (Reig, 1987; Hershkovitz, 1990c). Reassigned as a species of Akodon by Galliari and Pardiņas (1995), its status considered provisional pending an emended diagnosis and clarification of its relationship.
