Common Name:Andean Akodont
Type Locality:Chile, Santiago Prov., Altos Andes.
Distribution:Altiplano, generally above 3500 m, from SC Perú, through extreme W Bolivia, to NW Argentina and C Chile (as far as 34ºS; Muñoz Pedreros, 2000).
Status:IUCN – Lower Risk (lc) as Chroeomys andinus.
Comments:Anderson (1997) employed dolichonyx as subspecies for Bolivian populations but emphasized the need for fresh evaluation of intraspecific variation.
