Common Name:Black Squirrel Monkey
Type Locality:Brazil, Amazonas, mouth of Rio Japura, left bank of Lago Mamirauá, 2°59’S, 64°55’W.
Distribution:Between Rios Japura, Solimões and (probably) Paranado Jaraua (Brazil); Tarara and Capucho Isls (Brazil).
Status:CITES – Appendix II; IUCN – Vulnerable.
Comments:S. boliviensis species group. A subspecies of S. boliviensis according to Hershkovitz (1987c:22, fn.).
