Early 1920's

This aerial photograph taken in the early 1920's shows the first wing of the Engineering Building, standing alone at the top of the photograph surrounded by farmland.This was the first building to be built on the George Barron Miller farm.

South Seventh Street is to the left in the photograph, continuing straight up and over the hill to intersect with River Road next to the Susquehanna River, which is visible at the top of the photograph. The white dome of "Old Main" before it was destroyed by the fire of 1932 is visible to the left of the first wing of the Engineering Building.. The Lewisburg Cemetery is located at the bottom of the photograph and two white mausoleums are visible. Above the mausoleums are the tennis courts, located adjacent to South Seventh Street. Taylor Street is to the left of the end of the tennis courts.
