Distribution:Disjunct; in rainforest zone; W Africa in Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Togo; C Africa in NE Angola, Cameroon, Dem. Rep. Congo, S Central African Republic, Equatorial Guinea (Mbini), Gabon, SE Nigeria, Republic of Congo, Uganda (one record; extinct).
Status:CITES – Appendix II; IUCN – Lower Risk (nt).
Comments:Treated as two evolutionary species, C. dorsalis and C. castaneus by Cotterill (2003b).
