Common Name:Steppe Saiga
Type Locality:"Habitat in summa Asia"; identified as W Kazakhstan, steppes along the Ural River.
Distribution:China (extinct; formerly in Dzungarian Basin of Sinkiang), Kazakhstan, Moldavia (extinct), E Poland (extinct), S Russia (now restricted to Kalmykia, occasionally entering Dagestan), Ukraine (Crimea, extinct), NW Uzbekistan (seasonal).
Status:CITES – Appendix II; IUCN – Critically Endangered.
