Common Name:Preble's Shrew
Type Locality:USA, "Jordan Valley, altitude 4,200 feet [1280 m], Malheur County, Oregon."
Distribution:Columbia Plateau of Washington, Oregon, California, Idaho, Nevada to W Great Plains of Montana, Utah, Wyoming, Colorado, and New Mexico (USA). For reviews of distributional records, see Tomasi and Hoffmann (1984) and Long and Hoffmann (1992).
Status:IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
Comments:Subgenus Otisorex; S. cinereus group (Demboski and Cook, 2003). Reviewed by Cornely et al. (1992, Mammalian Species No. 416).
