Common Name:Malayan Pgymy Shrew
Type Locality:Thailand, "Bang Nara, Patani, Peninsular Siam".
Distribution:Malaysian peninsula.
Status:IUCN – Data Deficient.
Comments:Commonly included in etruscus but inhabits tropical forest and does not fit morphologically with the diagnosis of that species; malayanus was therefore regarded as a species by Corbet and Hill (1991:36), and Hutterer (1993a).
