Type Locality:Iran, S coast of Caspian Sea.
Distribution:Iran, S coast of Caspian Sea.
Comments:A distinct, chocolate-brown shrew formerly included in C. russula (Ellerman and Morrison-Scott, 1966) or C. leucodon. Zaitsev (1993) redefined the species and mapped its range.
