Common Name:Chinese Hare
Type Locality:"China". Restricted by G. Allen (1938:559) to "more or less in the region of Canton." [Guangzhou, Guandong Province, China].
Distribution:SE China from Yangtse River southward; Taiwan; disjunct in NE Vietnam.
Status:IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
Comments:Subgenus Sinolagus (Averianov, 1998). Placed in Caprolagus (Indolagus) by Gureev (1964:143). Formerly included coreanus; see Corbet (1978c: 73); here considered distinct, following Flux and Angermann (1990).
