Common Name:Rio Negro Brush-tailed Rat
Type Locality:Brazil, Acajutuba, lower Rio Negro, near its mouth.
Distribution:NC Brazil along the Rio Negro and Rio Solimoes.
Comments:Included in bistriata until recognized as distinct species based on sequence, chromosomal, and morphological differentiation (Bonvicino et al., 2003a). Karyotype has 2n=60, FN=112 (Bonvicino et al., 2003a).
