Type Locality:Venezuela, Mérida, Río Milla, 1630 m.
Distribution:Mérida Andes, ca. 1600-2400 m, W Venezuela (see Linares, 1998:Fig. 151).
Status:IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
Comments:Karyotype described by Aguilera et al. (2000), who noted its general conformity to the condition supposed as primitive for the genus.
