Common Name:Short-tailed Singing Mouse
Type Locality:Guatemala, Alta Verapaz Dept., Cobán.
Distribution:Intermediate elevations of Middle America from E Oaxaca, México, to W Panamá.
Status:IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
Comments:Level of differentiation and status of populations north (teguina) and south (irazu) of the Nicaraguan Depression merit reconsideration. Hooper (1972) recognized four subspecies.
