Type Locality:"La Ventura, Coahuila, Mexico."
Distribution:Coahuila, and San Luis Potosi; perhaps Nuevo Leon, and Zacatecas (NC Mexico).
Status:CITES – Appendix I; U.S. ESA – Endangered; IUCN – Endangered.
Comments:Subgenus Cynomys (Hall, 1981:412); reviewed by Ceballos-G. and Wilson (1985, Mammalian Species No. 248) and Treviño-V. (1991).
