Common Name:Woolly Flying Squirrel
Type Locality:"Gilgit [Valley],...about 6000 feet" [Pakistan, 1829 m].
Distribution:High elevations from N Pakistan and Kashmir to Sikkim (India) to Tibet and possibly Yunnan (China; Agrawal and Chakraborty, 1970).
Status:IUCN – Endangered.
Comments:Reviewed by McKenna (1962). In 1994, the first specimen to be found in "...over a century..." was obtained in the Gilgit district (Zahler, 1996).
