Common Name:Black Colobus
Type Locality:Equatorial Guinea, Bioko.
Distribution:SW Gabon, Rio Muni and Bioko (Equatorial Guinea), SW Cameroon; possibly Republic of Congo (Carpaneto, 1995).
Status:CITES – Appendix II; U.S. ESA – Endangered; IUCN – Endangered as C. s. satanus, Data Deficient as C. s. antracinus, otherwise Vulnerable.
Comments:McAllan and Bruce (1989) argued that the original publication of this species is: The Analyst, 24:298-299 [publ. 2 July 1838].
