Common Name:Sooty Mangabey
Type Locality:West Africa.
Distribution:Senegal to Ghana.
Status:CITES – Appendix II; U.S. ESA – Endangered as included in C. torquatus; IUCN – Critically Endangered as C. a. lunulatus, otherwise Lower Risk (nt).
Comments:The subspecies lunulatus appears strongly distinct, and may be a separate species (Groves, 2001c:242-3). Separated from torquatus by Groves (2001c:242).
