Type Locality:Peru, Department of Loreto, Yahauas Territory, vicinity of Pebas.
Distribution:Peru, Ecuador and Brazil, between Rios Caqueta-Japua and Rios Napo-Solimoes.
Status:CITES – Appendix II; IUCN – Lower Risk (lc)
Comments:Subgenus Torquatus. Separated as a species from C. torquatus by van Roosmalen et al. (2002).
