GENUS Ailurops

Author:Wagler, 1830.
Citation:Naturliches Syst. Amphibien: 26.
Type Species:Phalangista ursina Temminck, 1824.
Comments:McKenna and Bell (1997) did not separate this genus from Phalanger, but Flannery et al. (1987) had placed it in its own subfamily, Ailuropinae, citing evidence that it is the sister-group of the rest of the Phalangeridae.
