Type Locality:Coast of France.
Distribution:Worldwide: warm-temperate to tropical waters.
Status:CITES – Appendix II; IUCN – Data Deficient.
Comments:Stenopontistes zambezicus is not a synonym, see comment under Sousa chinensis. See Schevill (1987a) for further taxonomic notes.
