Common Name:Visayan Spotted Deer
Type Locality:"transmitted … from Singapore … Hab. Malayan peninsula, or adjoining islands (?)"; "Philippines, the type specimen having been received from Manila" (Lydekker, 1915:63).
Distribution:Philippines (Panay and Negros Isls; formerly also Guimaras and possibly Siquijor but almost certainly not Bohol, Cebu or any other Isls according to W. Oliver, in litt.).
Status:U.S. ESA and IUCN – Endangered as Cervus alfredi.
Comments:Included in R. marianna by Haltenorth (1963). Revised by Grubb and Groves (1983), where treated as a full species.
