Distribution:Borneo.
Status:IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
Comments:Formerly included in M. muntjak, or in a separate species, M. pleiharicus; see Chasen (1940:203); however pleiharicus is a synonym of muntjak; see Groves and Grubb (1982).
