(1967). Probable ancestor of the domestic ferret, M. p. furo (Rempe, 1970; Volobuev et al., 1974). Youngman (1982) and Abramov (1999) placed it in the subgenus Putorius. Pocock (1936b) and Ellerman and Morrison-Scott (1966) considered eversmanii and putorius conspecific; however, Ognev (1931), Stroganov (1962), and Heptner et al. (1967), recognized them as distinct species. Synonyms allocated according to Heptner et al. (1967). |
