Common Name:Rickett's Big-footed Myotis
Type Locality:China, Fukien (= Fujian), Foochow.
Distribution:Fukien, Anhwei, Kiangsu, Shantung, Yunnan (China); Hong Kong; Vietnam and Laos.
Status:IUCN 2003 and IUCN/SSC Action Plan (2001) – Lower Risk (nt).
Comments:Myotis pilosus Peters, 1869 (type locality unknown) may be the oldest name for this species; see Ellerman and Morrison-Scott (1951) and Corbet and Hill (1992). Sometimes placed in its own subgenus Rickettia, see discussion in Findley (1972) and Corbet and Hill (1992). Reviewed in part by Bates et al. (1999) and Hendrichsen et al. (2001); also see Horácek et al. (2000), who discussed this taxon under the name pilosus.
